"Tokyo is a Universe" is an artistic travel report that attempts to capture the different areas in and around Japan's capital in an alternative and poetic format. The goal of Tokyo is a Universe is to draw the viewer into an entire galaxy where different cultural worlds collide and separate.

The book was the result of Denise's first month-long business trip to Japan. All photographs are taken in analogue. Deeply poetic texts were written to accompany the images. The book was riso printed in order to physically reproduce the grain of the photographs on the material. Bound by hand using multiple thread stitching and glue binding, each of the 30 editions is unique.
