Transformation Concepts & Future Strategies
Citizen Manifesto

Interactive Installation for Future Visions,
2025
Citizen Manifesto is an interactive installation that transforms participants’ future visions against panic in uncertain times into posters, contributing to a collective manifesto.
Developed by Hakuhodo Inc. and the Ars Electronica Futurelab, the project premiered at the Ars Electronica Festival 2025. The installation experiments with various mechanisms for spreading citizens’ demands, sparking dialogue across differing opinions, unfamiliar wishes, and bold ideas.
The dialogues were recorded and summarized by AI into key statements. Participants then selected from multiple headlines, subtitles, and poster designs to shape their message. Each poster became part of the printed Citizen Manifesto and could also be shared digitally via QR code, extending the dialogue beyond the exhibition.
The aim was to create a tangible tool for gentle activism—encouraging instant, collective decisions on future topics, even among those who disagree. By focusing on common ground rather than differences, participants co-created future visions together.
The process demonstrated how generative AI can support open expression and civic dialogue, while making the creation journey transparent from conversation to poster.
